This course is for people seeking employment in aged care within organisational or community settings.

It is the minimum qualification requirement for employment in both aged care facilities and community based aged care.

This certificate is competency based and provides a nationally recognised qualification.

The length of the course is 20 weeks.

Competency must be achieved for each unit.

Assessments will be conducted in a variety of ways including:

• Written reports/assignments
• Workplace simulations
• Class activities
• Review sheets
• Role play
• Practical workplace placement (4 weeks)
